Bachelor and Master Theses

I supervise Bachelor- and Master Theses (G, HRSGe, SP) in the following areas:

  • Literary and cultural theory
  • Literature and Language Pedagogy in the EFL Classroom
  • Education for Sustainable Development in English Teaching
  • My research interests include: climate fiction, ecocriticism, education for sustainable development, cultural plant studies, affect theory and reception aesthetics, Gothic and horror studies, and children's and young adult literature.

Important: Due to limited capacity, I only supervise students who have taken or are currently taking courses with me. When contacting me, please include a specific topic proposal, your central research question, and, if applicable, the titles of the primary works you intend to analyse in your thesis.

First-Generation Students

I particularly care about supporting students and doctoral candidates from non-academic families. If you have questions about studying or pursuing a PhD as a first-generation student at the University of Cologne, please feel free to get in touch.
